You will need

  • CHARITY DK (100g balls) 8 balls each Malva 085 A and School Grey 011 B, 4 balls Camel 145 C
  • One pair 5,5mm knitting needles

Measurements 

±145cm x 150cm

Tension

15sts and 21 rows = 10cm over stocking stitch using 5,5mm needles and 2 strands together.

Abbreviations

foll(s) = follow(s)ing; k = knit; p = purl; rep = repeat; RSF = right side facing;  st(s) = stitch(es); tog = together; WSR = wrong side row.

Special abbreviations

C2B = knit into the back of the second stitch on left hand needle, then knit into the front of the first stitch
C2F = knit into the front of the second stitch on left hand needle, then knit into the back of the first stitch
T2B = purl into the back of the second stitch on left hand needle, then knit into the front of the first stitch
T2F = knit into the front of the second stitch on left hand needle, then purl into the front of the first stitch

To make

PANELS (Make 2 each in A and B and 1 in C):
Using 5,5mm needles and 2 strands tog, cast on 48sts.
1st row:  RSF, (k1, p6, k5) to end.
2nd row:  (P4, C2F, k3, T2F, p1) to end.
3rd row:  (K2, p6, k4) to end.
4th row:  (P3, C2F, k3, T2F, p2) to end.
5th row:  (K3, p6, k3) to end.
6th row:  (P2, C2F, k3, T2F, p3) to end.
7th row:  (K4, p6, k2) to end.
8th row:  (P1, C2F, k3, T2F, p4) to end.
9th row:  (K4, p7, k1) to end.
10th row:  (P1, T2B, k3, C2B, p4) to end.
11th row:  (K4, p6, k2) to end.
12th row:  (P2, T2B, k3, C2B, p3) to end.
13th row:  (K3, p6, k3) to end.
14th row:  (P3, T2B, k3, C2B, p2) to end.
15th row:  (K2, p6, k4) to end.
16th row:  (P4, T2B, k3, C2B, p1) to end.

Rep these 16 rows until work measures 150cm (or desired length) ending with a WSR, then cast off all sts.

Finishing

Sew panels neatly in the foll order: A, B, C, B, A.
Block work to measurement, cover with damp cloths and allow to dry.
