Easy cracker topping ideas, perfect for entertaining.
Impress your guests with these easy to make and delicious cracker toppings. There is a topping to cater for every taste and the veggie options will even have die hard carnivores drooling. The toppings can all be store bought so no preparation is required.
1.Chicken liver pate: spread chicken liver pate on crackers and top with caremelized onion or cranberry jelly. Garnish with micro greens.
2.Honeyed hazelnut and goats cheese: spread goats cheese on crackers. Mix honey and chopped hazelnuts and spoon onto the crackers. Top with a sprig of thyme.
3.Guacamole and prawn: roughly crush avo and mix in lemon juice and chopped coriander. Season and dollop onto crackers. Top with a cooked prawn or shrimp. Sprinkle with lemon zest and coriander leaves.
Top Tip: if you have carb conscious or banting guests, replace the crackers with thick slices of cucumber, roasted eggplant discs or sweet potato slices.
4.Tuna salad: mix mayo and finely chopped red onion through drained flaked tuna. Top crackers with a piece of curly lettuce leaves and spoon dollops of the tuna on top. Garnish with fine sprouts.
5.Cucumber rolls: use a peeler to cut a cucumber into thin ribbons and cut each in half. Spread with cream cheese and top with thin salami slices. Roll each up. Top crackers with dollops of red pesto and a cucumber roll.

6.Biltong, strawberry and balsamic: spread crackers with cream cheese and top with thinly sliced biltong, quartered strawberries and balsamic reduction.
7.Camembert and fig: top crackers with camembert slices, dollops of fig jam and a fresh fig slice (if in season).
8.Tomato and basil: spoon dollops of pesto onto crackers and top with mixed sliced cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. Season.
Top Tip: serve the crackers on a bread board, chalk board (write a fun message on the board), a tiered cake stand or a large brightly coloured plate.
9.Blue cheese and preserved melon: crumble blue cheese over crackers and top with sliced preserved melon. Sprinkle with chopped pecan nuts.
10.Roast beef and horseradish: scrunch pieces of thinly sliced roast beef on crackers and top with dollops of horseradish cream. Skewer a mini gherkin on top.
