Get cosy in this lovely, quick Autumn knit!

Autumn-knitYou will need

  • ELLE Premier Cotton 4-ply in colour of your choice (50g balls) – 6(6;7;7)
  • pair 3.75mm knitting needles
  • (3.75mm circular needle may be needed)

MEASUREMENTS

Original garment worked in size 82-87cm
To fit bust: 82-87(92-97;102-107)cm
Actual all round measurement of garment:
Bust: 100(110;120;130)cm
Length to shoulder: 60cm
Sleeve length: 46(47;48;49)cm

TENSION

24sts and 14 rows = 10cm x 10cm over pattern (straightened not stretched) using 3.75mm needles.

c/on(off) – cast on(off) pw – purlwise; ea – each rep(s) – repeat(s); k – knit; RS – right side; k2tog – knit 2 together; sl – slip; kfb – knit into front and back of stitch; st(s) – stitch(es); L(R)HN – left (right); hand needle; tog – together; N(s) – needle(s); yb – yarn back; p – purl; yf – yarn forward; patt(s) – pattern(s)

To make

BACK AND FRONT (BOTH ALIKE)

Using 3,75mm Ns c/on 120(132;144;156)sts.
1st row: with RS facing, kfb, k1, insert tip of LHN into first st, carefully drop the 2sts on the RHN and pick them up again behind work (thus first st is in front of work), knit st on LHN, *k1, insert tip of LHN into previous st, drop first st on RHN and pick it up again behind work, knit st on LHN, rep from * to last st, k1, insert tip of LHN into previous st, drop first st on RHN and pick it up again behind work, place this st on LHN and k2tog.
2nd row: p.
3rd row: as 1st row.
4th row: p.
5th row: as 1st row.
You may need to use to the circular needle at this point.
6th row: p, wrapping yarn 4 times around needle for ea st.
7th row: k, dropping extra loops.
8th row: p.
Tug on work to straight and neaten the long sts. Rep from 1st row until work measures ±60cm ending with 4th row of patt. Mark centre 60(65;65;70)sts for neck opening, then c/off all sts.

SLEEVES (BOTH ALIKE)

Worked lengthways: Using 3,75mm Ns c/ on on 110(112;116;118)sts.
1st row: with RS facing, kfb, k1, insert tip of LHN into first st, carefully drop the 2sts on the RHN and pick them up again behind work (thus first st is in front of work), knit st on LHN, *k1, insert tip of LHN into previous st, drop first st on RHN and pick it up again behind work, knit st on LHN, rep from * to last st, k1, insert tip of LHN into previous st, drop first st on RHN and pick it up again behind work, place this st on LHN and k2tog.
2nd row: sl1pw, yb, sl1pw, yf (wrist edge), p to end.
3rd row: as 1st row.
4th row: as 2nd row.
5th row: as 1st row.
You may need to use to the circular needle at this point.
6th row: p, wrapping yarn 4 times around needle for ea st.
7th row: k, dropping extra loops.

1st and 2nd sizes only: 8th row: p.
3rd and 4th sizes only: 8th row: as 2nd row.

ALL SIZES
Rep from 1st row 6(6;7;7) times more,
then c/off all sts.

TO MAKE UP
Sew shoulder seams to markers. Place markers ±20(22;24;25)cm down on either side of shoulder seams.
Fold sleeves in half lengthways, then placing longer row edge fold on shoulder seam, sew sleeves neatly into position.
Sew up side and sleeve seams neatly.
Block work to measurement, cover with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
