These pretty distressed door hooks will add charm to any room and make a lovely gift for someone special.

You’ll need

  • plank cut to size
  • drill
  • wood screws
  • doorknobs
  • pencil
  • ruler
  • paint
  • paintbrush
  • grinder (if needed)
  • sandpaper
  • wax (optional)
  • rag

To make

  1. Measure the desired position of the doorknobs and mark. Mark holes for two screws on either side (for
  2. Drill 3 holes for the knobs.
  3. Paint wood as desired.
  4. Sand lightly for a distressed look.
  5. Wax lightly to add an antique finish.
  6. Fasten the knobs. If necessary, use a grinder to remove any excess threading from your knobs. Attach
    to the back of a door using two wood screws.
