Make your own knitted pouf!

You’ll need

  • 8 x 200g balls Papatya denim
  • 9mm/120cm circular needle
  • 9mm double-pointed needles
  • 50cm zip in a matching colour
  • matching thread
  • polystyrene beads for stuffing
  • old single duvet cover for inner
  • sewing up needle

Finished size: 55cm x 50cm

Base and top (knitted in stocking stitch)

Cast on 8 stitches, divide between 4 double-pointed needles.
Knit 1 round.
Knit round, increasing 1 st in every st (16 sts).
Purl 1 round.
Knit round, increasing 1 stitch in every 2nd st (24 sts).
Purl 1 round.
Knit round, increasing 1 st in every 3rd st.
Continue purling 1 round and knitting 1 round, increasing in the knit round. Increase 8 sts in every knit
round (1 st per section), until you have 176 sts (22 sts in each of 8 sections).
Cast off.
Repeat for the base.

Side (knitted in bamboo stitch)

Cast on 165 sts with 9mm circular needle.
WS: K1, P1.
RS: Sl 2 sts purlwise, p1, *sl st purlwise, p1*. Repeat * to *
Repeat these 2 rows until work reaches 50cm (94 rows).
Cast off.

To make up

Hand sew zip into place on side.
Sew lid and base onto top and bottom.
Using a continental pillowcase or an old duvet cover cut in half, fill with polystyrene beads. Sew together
to form your pouf inner. (An old duvet inner will also work, depending on size and tog rating).
Open zip and insert inner into pouf.
