This serendipity crocheted blanket has it’s charm in the multiple colours – but you can keep it simple and classy with a more muted tone.
What you need
- PURE GOLD DK (100g balls) 2 balls each:
- Marigold 138 A
- Clementine 098 B
- Ruby 001 C
- Cabaret 204 D
- Amethyst 006 E
- Spritz 003 F
- Taupe 045 G
- Limeade 149 H
- One 4mm crochet hook
±90cm x 120cm
18sts = 10cm over pattern using a 4mm hook.
ch = chain; chsp = chain space; dc = double crochet; foll(s) = follow(s)ing; rep = repeat; RSF = right side facing; sp = space; tch = turning chain; tr(s) = treble(s).
shell = (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) in indicated ch/sp.
NOTE: After 1st row colour change, work 2 rows each in colour sequence as folls: *B, C, D, E, F, G, H, A, rep from *.
Using a 4mm hook and A, make 160ch.
1st row: RSF, 1 shell in 6th ch from hook, (miss 5ch, 1 shell in next ch) to last 4ch, miss 3ch, 1tr in last ch.
2nd row: (Change colour), 2ch, 1tr in 2nd foundation ch, *1ch, 1dc in 1chsp of shell, 1ch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in middle foundation ch between shells, rep from * ending 1ch, 1dc in 1chsp of shell, 1ch, 1tr in foundation ch next to shell ch, 1dc in top of tch.
3rd row: 3ch, 2tr in first tr, *1 shell in 1chsp between tr, rep from * ending 3tr in last tr.
4th row: 1ch, 1dc in first tr, *1ch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in 1chsp of shell of row below, 1ch, 1dc in 1chsp of shell, rep from * ending 1ch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in 1chsp of shell of row below, 1ch, 1dc in top of tch.
5th row: 3ch, (1 shell in 1chsp between trs) to end, ending 1tr in tch.
6th row: 2ch, 1tr in sp between 1st and 2nd tr, *1ch, 1dc in 1chsp of shell, 1ch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in 1chsp of shell of row below, rep from * ending 1ch, 1dc in 1chsp of shell, 1ch, 1tr in sp between tr and 3ch, 1dc in top of tch.
Rep 3rd to 6th row until work measures 120cm (or desired length).
Block work to measurement, cover with damp cloths and allow to dry.
