Laces

Using a 3mm hook and B make 100ch.
Work in loose threads and thread the laces through the dc sts at the front end. Make a knot eat each end.

TO MAKE UP
Step 1
With wrong sides facing, use one yarn A sole and one yarn B sole and match toes and heels. Using yarn A and the uppermost part of the yarn A sole, start at the heels and ss surface crochet soles together, catching only the inner dc loops of the last rows of both soles, and not the outer loops.

Step 2
Cut suede or any nonslip material according to the shape of the soles (you can trace them on the material). Pin the suede soles to the yarn A side of each sole, matching toes and heels. Sew tog with matching colour crochet cotton or any strong yarn. Make sure your yarn is long enough to finish two rows of stitching around sole. Work a single stitch in every 2nd dc. (In one dc from back to front, in at the next dc and out at the other side, so that there’s a gap between stitches). When you reach the heel again, turn and begin filling in the gaps so that the stitching resembles machine stitching.
Make sure not to catch the outer loop of the dc on the last row on soles.
When finished, fasten off and sew in all loose threads.

Step 3
Place pins or wool markers at the tip of toe and heel. Count 5 dc to the right of toe marker and put marker there, count 5 dc to left of toe marker and place marker there. Count 3 dc at both sides from side marker and put markers at each side. Pin the place where yarns A and B meet at the last markers and sew onto sole with yarn B. Make sure not to catch the yarn A’s loop, and only the inner loop with yarn B. Ease the toe part slightly to fit from marker to marker, if necessary.

Step 4
Pin upper parts to sneaker, matching heel markers and the beg and end rows to the first side markers nearest to the toe marker. (Upper part must overlap the toe part at the sides). Use yarn A and a fine slipstitch, work upper part to soles, catching the inner loop of the last row of dc on the yarn A sole. Pin the rounding of the upper part onto the contrast part up to where the two colours meet. Sew the front rounding with yarn A and fine slip stitch up to where the colours meet, leaving the tongue free.

Step 5
With yarn B, and sole facing you, insert hook through the outer loop at the heel marker and make dc sts in every outer loop of the last row of dc on sole, ending with 1 dc into the same dc as the first dc. Ss into 1st dc-43(47)dc. Work another 2 rows of dc on these 43(47)dc. Fasten off, leaving length of wool long enough to sew contrast rows round the sneaker, leaving the impression of a thick sole. Using four threads of black embroidery cotton, sew on a border between the base of the bootie and the body.
