Make this gorgeous Tunisian crochet throw, just in time for winter!
- 26 x 50g balls of ELLE Rustica Chunky
- 1 x 12mm Tunisian crochet hook
- 1 x 3.5mm crochet hook
- 1 x tapestry or yarn needle
Finished size: 1.5m x 1.80m
Ch – chain; dc – double crochet; rem – remains; rep – repeat; slst – slip stitch; st(s) – stitch(es); yoh – yarn over hook.
Using Tunisian crochet hook and Rustica Chunky, make 31ch.
Foundation row: insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, yoh and pull through, *insert hook into next ch, yoh and pull through; rep from * until there are 30 sts on hook.
1st row: *yoh, pull through 2 sts on hook, rep from * until one st rem.
2nd row: *insert hook into front of vertical loop, yoh, pull through; rep from * until you have 30 sts on hook.
Rep 1st and 2nd row until strip measures 1.5m, ending with 2nd row. Cut yarn and pull through. Work 6 strips in this way.
You can lay the strips either right sides up, or alternate one strip right side up and the next wrong side up. Pin
together, matching up evenly and either sew or crochet together using a 3.5mm crochet hook and slst. When
you’ve joined all 6 strips, work three rows of dc around the throw to finish.
Note: For a larger throw, increase the length of each strip or make extra strips. This throw used approximately 4 x 50g balls of yarn for each strip.
