Brighten up any room with a wooden block collage.
Cut pieces of pine into 16 blocks measuring 10cm x 10cm. Lightly sand to smooth the edges. Dust to remove any sawdust. Paint the front of the block with Mod Podge and place on the back of pieces of craft paper. Press down firmly. Cut around the edges with a craft knife. Smooth down the paper with a cloth to remove any air bubbles and
allow to dry. Sand around the edges of the paper with sandpaper. Ensure the blocks are dust-free, then apply about 3 coats of varnish to the front of each one, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next one. Attach to the wall with double-sided tape.
Tip: This would look very effective using some of your favourite photographs. There’s no need to varnish – just ensure the photos are securely adhered to the blocks.
