  2. It’s OK to feel sad.
  3. I can see this isn’t easy for you. May I come and sit with you for a while?
  4. I’m here for you and I love you very much.

  7. I know it doesn’t feel fair.
  8. Wow, that was really upsetting/ sad/ scary/ unfair, etc.
  9. I hear that you need some space. I’m right around the corner when you’re ready – I want to be there for you.
  10. Shall we try to figure it out together? I will always help you where I can.
