Sweet Peas are fragrant flowers that come in beautiful colours and now’s the time to sow seeds for a display in late winter and Spring.
Here are our 3 tips to growing perfect Sweet Peas:
- The best place to grow Sweet Peas is on a slight slope. Slopes provide better drainage, especially in Winter rainfall gardens.
- Prepare a trench with composted manure mixed into the topsoil. Top this with a light layer of sand and plant the seeds. Sand helps seeds germinate quickly.
- Sow seeds this month or April for an early crop of flowers.
Sweet Peas are lovely cut flowers so go ahead and decorate your house with bunches of this pretty, cheerful flower.
