Valentine’s Day is a profitable industry, with sales of flowers, chocolates, and jewellery going through the roof in the frenzied run-up to the big day. But it’s also a day for romantics to celebrate love.

Give your partner – and yourself by default – an experience! Give the gift of your time and undivided attention. Go to that new restaurant you’ve been talking about, take them somewhere they’ve always wanted to go, or try some crazy adventurous activity together. Whatever you do, the memories will be worth more than any bunch of flowers.
