Running is a great cardio exercise and anyone can do it. Here are a few tips to run the right way when exercising with your kids.
- Stop if they complain of pain. According to doctors, kids’ bones have open growth plates, which are areas of growing tissue at the ends of bone that are vulnerable to injury. When a lot of stress is put on them, fatigue fractures can occur.
- Dress comfortably. Nothing will put them off running than rubbing and chaffing, so they should wear clothes that aren’t too tight or loose and bunchy. Supportive sneakers are important to help cushion feet, ankles, knees and hips.
- At their pace. Be upbeat and take your cue from them. Stop when they want to and walk. If you push her, running will quickly lose its appeal!
