Make Dried Fruit Chips for the kids to munch on for lunch or as a snack.
- 10 mins + 1 hr 30 mins for drying
- Makes 4 servings
- 4 green apples
- juice of 1 lemon
- 125ml water
- Preheat oven to 90°C (this works best with a fan oven). Line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Slice the apples as thinly as possible – use a mandolin if you have one, otherwise a very sharp knife. Mix the lemon juice and water together in a small bowl.
- Dip the apple slices in the lemon water and shake of any excess liquid. Place the slices on the baking tray and dry in the oven until golden and crisp. Turn the apples halfway through the drying process.
You can dry other fruits using the same technique. Banana and mango slices work very well.
