These twisty sausage breadsticks are so much fun to make!

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 sausages (pork, beef, lamb or chicken)
  • 250g ready-made bread dough
  • cake flour, for shaping

METHOD

  1. Skewer the sausages onto sticks. Take a golf ball-size amount of bread dough and roll into a long thin ‘sausage’ (use flour to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands and work surface).
  2. Wrap a strip of dough around a sausage and onto the skewer. Repeat with the rest. Cook over hot coals for 15-20 minutes.

Note: If you’re camping, look for sturdy straight sticks, or at home use sticks from a pesticide-free fruit tree.

Tip

Ready-made dough is available in the bakery section of most supermarkets.
