How to knit jogless stripes in the round

Knitting in the round has many advantages, but stripes can be tricky. Here’s how to have seamless stripes with one simple trick.

Knitting in the round is quick, fun and a great way to make beanies, gloves and cowls. But stripes can trip many people up! Here’s a very simple trick to keep your stripes jogless.

  1. Knit one row in new colour

Finish off your row in the previous colour


Work one row in new colour, as normal

2. At the end of the row, pick up the stitch of the old colour and put it up on the needle



3. Knit these two together.


4. Continue as normal.

This is very useful for items like the Dr Seuss beanie! As you can see below, this is pretty much seamless and creates a very smooth transition.
