We show how to prepare a bowl to steam your Christmas pudding in 3 easy steps.
1.Grease a heatproof bowl with cook and spray or butter. Pour the batter in. Place a double layer of buttered foil (buttered side in), making a pleat in the centre.
2.Tie string tightly around the rim of the bowl to secure the foil.
3. Place an enamel plate upside down in a large saucepan and place the basin on top. Fill with boiling water to come halfway up the side of the bowl. Cover the saucepan with a tight fitting lid and simmer.
