3 signs you’re not washing your dog correctly

3 signs you’re not washing your dog correctly

When it comes to bathing your dog, there’s a right way and definitely a wrong way to do it. Watch out for the following:

  1. Repeated ear infections – this is a sign you’re not cleaning the ears properly after they get wet. To protect the ears during a bath, place a cotton ball inside each ear.
  2. Dry/itchy skin – if your dog scratches a lot, especially after a bath, your shampoo or rinsing technique might need to be checked. Remember to only use pet-specific products and make sure you’ve rinsed all the shampoo out of your dog’s coat.
  3. Does your long-haired breed have breaking fur? Perhaps you need to add a pet-specific conditioner to your routine.

TIP: use a warm wash cloth to clean your dog’s face instead of wetting his entire head.
